cres ensemble music programs
Welcome to the Ensemble Music Program at Commack Road!
At Commack Road, students are offered the opportunity to participate in ensemble music programs in 4th and 5th grades. Ensembles provide students with the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, develop their voices and experience performing with others. Please click on the links below to find more out about each of our groups.
THIRD GRADE students are introduced to each family of instruments, one at a time, and have an opportunity to learn about each family and the instruments in each family through class discussions, videos, and live in-class demonstrations by our Band Instructor, Mr. Muscara and our Orchestra Instructor, Mrs. Tria.
Keeping an open dialogue between students and parents is the most critical part of this selection process. the most important thing we are looking for is that students enjoy the sound of the instrument they are selecting.
At the end of the process, students will be asked to pick their two favorite instruments that they would like to play, and then the Commack Road Music Faculty will make a final selection based on which instrument we believe your child will be most successful with, as well as addressing balanced instrumentation needs of the ensembles.
Students may learn to play 1 instrument (in either Orchestra or Band) as well as join the CRES Chorus and audition for CRES TrebleMakers.
If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to contact Mr. Baur at
