Connected educational and distance learning experiences and resources
I hope all of you are staying safe and staying healthy during this unpredictable time. My hope is that you are at least finding some time to spend with your families and finding a bit of calm. Below you will find links to different websites that will allow you to experience different aspects of music and music making. Please also be sure to read my initial Blog Entry from March 23 as there is lots of important information there too!

This is good for dancers of all ages!
Here is a dance that you can actually do by yourself in your living room! Make sure you watch the instruction video first and then move on to the actual performance. Huge thanks for Lisa Lohr for making these wonderful videos for so many students!

Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
Students go on an Instrument Safari with Benjamin Britten's The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra! Instruments are introduced interactively and in a story format. Students must pay attention in order to "unlock" the next steps by identifying the instruments.
Classics for Kids
A website that has a bunch of different music games.
Semi-Conductor
OK, this one is a bit weird, but I still think you will enjoy it. You get your own Orchestra and you conduct it. You can make them play louder and quieter, faster and slower, and even choose which sections get to play. It definitely takes a little getting used to so don't give up right away - and definitely watch the demo videos at the beginning. When you are ready, click the "Launch Experiment" button at the top of the page.
Star Spangled Banner History - Smithsonian Institute
A great resource for the history of our National Anthem.
Body Percussion Warm-Up
Need to just get moving? Click here and follow along!
Kennedy Center Videos - THESE ARE FANTASTIC!
Each video is about 5 minutes long and easy to follow along with! But beware - they are definitely intense and require a lot of energy!

African Dance - Video 2
African Dance - Video 3
In the Hall of the Mountain King
